WinterWest

Sponsored by:

WinterWest is a winter fun free event in collaboration with West Grand Neighborhood Organization, the City of Grand Rapids Parks and Rec Department, and Friends of Grand Rapids Parks.  WinterWest was started in 2010 to encourage outdoor park engagement during the chilly winter months.

WinterWest creates the opportunity for the community to enjoy Richmond Park’s natural assets during the winter. A highlight of the event is the Adult and Youth Crazy Cardboard Sled Race! Bring your family and friends and enjoy hot chocolate, kid activities, snowman and snow fort building, and more!

WinterWest will be held on Saturday, December 22nd at Richmond Park from 10:00 am – 2:00 pm. There is an alternate snow date scheduled for January 12th, 2019.

There will be a cardboard sled workshop hosted by The National Science Institute on December 15th, 10:00 am – 1:00 pm.  You can find more event details here.
