Community Tree Pruning: Hall and Sheldon

August 29 @ 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm

Join Friends of Grand Rapids Parks and Neighborhood Foresters in helping to maintain trees across the City.  During this AWTT we will prune young trees to help them stay healthier, need less care and have fewer problems as they mature.

You can register here.  No experience or tools are necessary to join us in helping these young trees get a good start.  We will meet at the northeast corner of Hall and Sheldon.

WHAT: Maintain some trees that need our lovin’!
WHERE: 1151 Sheldon Ave SE
WHEN: Thursday, August 29th, 5:30 pm – 7:30 pm
WHY: City trees need love. Trees should be pruned every 3 to 5 years, yet the majority of street trees are pruned only every 10 to 12 years. This increases the risk for limb drops and tree falls, which endanger people and property.
WHO: You! and any of your friends you would like to bring along.
HOW: We’ve got the tools and expertise. Luckily, the trees are already there waiting for us!

If you have any questions or want to know more please feel free to contact us.

This event fulfills the hands-on pruning session needed to receive your Neighborhood Forester certification.
