Tree Planting Project: Mini Grant Awards!

October 15, 2019 @ 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm

Join FGRP and to help our neighbors plant trees in the Wealthy Street neighborhood! ***We’ll meet at 556 Wealthy St. SE (where Wealthy and Union intersect).***

As part of the Urban Forest Project, we’re on a mission to plant 225 trees throughout the city this fall. We’ll be focusing on projects in the downtown and Uptown areas, as well as at city schools.

This project:
– is kid-friendly
– is flexible! Leave a little early if needed
– requires no previous experience
– is open to all members of the GR community
– fulfills the hands-on planting requirement for our Neighborhood Forester certification

If you plan to attend, please RSVP via Eventbrite! ***If you would like to create a private pruning or planting event for your corporate group, please visit https://www.friendsofgrparks.org/group-requests/***

The Urban Forest Project was launched in 2011 by Friends of Grand Rapids Parks, the City of Grand Rapids, and the Grand Rapids Community Foundation, to work toward the Green Grand Rapids 40% tree canopy goal. Every tree planted and cared for helps to create greener neighborhoods, intercept stormwater, conserve energy, remove air pollutants, and reduce and store CO2.
