Talking about trees workshop

November 11, 2014 @ 6:30 pm - 9:00 pm

Not everyone understands the values that trees offer to our community. As neighborhood tree representatives, you have one of the most powerful opportunities to convince your neighbors of the importance of trees and our urban forest. This class will offer you a perspective on the big picture of ‘Urban Forest Management’ and develop some of the tools on how to effectively converse with your neighbors and City officials about trees and their role in our community.
This class completes the tree advocacy requirement for the Citizen Forester program. It is the fourth and final requirement to become a ‘Citizen Forester’. The classes do not need to be taken in any specific order, and anyone is welcome to attend.

This class is free for Friends’ members. You can become a Friend for a minimum donation of $5 at the event. Space may be limited. Please RSVP to Lee Mueller at 616 389 4687 or Lee.Mueller@friendsofgrparks.org The event will be held on November 11th from 6:30-9p at the Grand Rapids Community Foundation (185 Oakes SW).
