Riverside Park Tree Planting Day One: Brewer’s Grove Planting

October 23, 2014 @ 3:00 pm - 6:30 pm

On October 23rd, FGRP and the breweries that participated in this year’s Brewers Grove Project will kick off the Riverside Tree Planting at Riverside Park! These trees will be planted to improve tree diversity, replace trees lost to Emerald Ash Borer, and beautify the park following substantial new construction of roadways and trails. Every helping hand gathered will be greatly appreciated as the efforts of volunteers are what helps drive these events and programs.

Join us at 3pm on October 23rd at the ball-field parking lot to plant trees. FGRP provides the tools, trees, and training. You will need drinking water, any snacks you might want, closed-toed shoes, and clothes you don’t mind getting dirty.

Breweries connected through Brewer’s Grove: please contact Rachel (rachel@friendsofgrparks.org) with the number of brewery representatives who will be attending the event!

The coordination and this project funding is due in part to the United States Forest Service through the Great Lakes Restoration Initiative, the Grand Rapids Community Foundation, local area breweries, and donations from friends like you.
