Neighborhood Forester Tree Pruning

July 29, 2020 @ 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm

Update: This project has 10 volunteers committed and is currently full! BUT we are constantly planning more projects. If you don’t see one of interest on our calendar, email claire@friendsofgrparks.org and we’ll work with you to organize one!

Friends invites our certified Neighborhood Foresters to join us in pruning trees! Location is TBD.

Our awesome team of Neighborhood Foresters know the benefits of providing trees with valuable pruning and maintenance attention. And know just how to do it to help them grow strong!

This project:
– is open to all certified Neighborhood Foresters
– allows 10 total volunteers, to adhere to our COVID-19 Volunteer Safety Guidelines

The City of Grand Rapids, Friends of Grand Rapids Parks, and the Grand Rapids Community Foundation launched the Urban Forest Project in 2011 to work toward a 40% tree canopy, a goal established by the Green Grand Rapids amendment to the city master plan. Every tree planted and cared for helps to create greener neighborhoods, intercept stormwater, conserve energy, remove air pollutants, and reduce and store CO2.
