Neighborhood Forester Tree Planting Class

April 9, 2019 @ 3:00 pm - 4:30 pm

Spring is upon us! And with that, so is the start of our 2019 tree planting season! We are excited to offer our Tree Planting class with guest instructors Nathan Rodriguez and Aaron Konn, Foresters with Consumers Energy. This class is a great learning opportunity leading up to the 4th annual Mayor’s Greening Initiative, where we will be planting 300 trees in the Roosevelt Park neighborhood.  You can register here.

Our Neighborhood Forester Tree Planting Class will teach you the skills it takes to successfully plant and grow a tree. Participants will learn the ins and outs of tree planting, including site selection, tree species, proper ways to take care of newly planted trees, and more. Anyone is welcome to attend, so feel free to bring a friend!

This class is part of a series of required classes to earn a ‘Neighborhood Forester’ designation. A $5 donation per class is encouraged. There is a 30 person cap for this class.
