bbq & beautify

BBQ & Beautify is a summer event series that is hosted in the evening encouraging neighbors to come together and help spruce up their community park.  One of the projects that will be available is tree pruning.  The beautification project is followed by a free community BBQ and yard games hosted by Friends of Grand Rapids Parks.  BBQ provided by Jonny B’z.

The 2019 series is presented by Bethany Christian Services.  This year we are partnering with All Of The Above Hip Hop Academy (AOTA) and their teen offshoot LPUGR (Love Peace Unity Grand Rapids).  AOTA provides Hip Hop mentoring programs throughout Michigan and hosts various community events focused on socially responsible engagement through Hip Hop culture.  AOTA and LPUGR are supporting the GRSummerProject and the Friends of Grand Rapids Parks with this year’s series theme of “BEATS, BBQ & BEAUTIFY.”

All ages are welcome and we’ll provide the tools and training for each project.  Don’t worry if you need to leave early or arrive late, we’ll welcome you when you arrive.  All events are hosted on Thursdays from 5:30 – 7:30 pm.
