This Spring, Friends of Grand Rapids Parks planted 165 trees with over 300 volunteers. While not as large as previous seasons, we feel we completed some great, community-oriented projects. Here’s a short list:

* 20 trees at Dickinson Park with Davita Dialysis and other volunteers
* 10 trees at Martin Luther King Park with the Association of Grand Rapids Landscape Professionals
* 25 trees at Roosevelt Park
* 25 trees at Burton Woods with Grand Rapids Community College
* 10 fruit trees at Southeast Community Outreach Ministries
* 5 trees at the Southwest Pole-Yard with John Ball/South West Area Neighbors
* 24 trees at Plaster Creek Family Park with Consumer’s Energy and Booking.com
* 20 trees in the North Monroe Business District
* 4 trees with the neighbors at Butterworth and Straight
* 22 trees at Richmond Park with Wolverine Worldwide

Friends of Grand Rapids Parks would like to thank the Grand Rapids Community Foundation and the USDA Forest Service through the Great Lakes Restoration Initiative for supporting our planting efforts. We also need to extend a huge thank you to all of our volunteers who made planting these trees possible. We hope to see you again in the Fall.
