“A Princess Bride” will be screened outdoors at Ah-Nab-Awen Park

GRAND RAPIDS (WZZM) — The Downtown Development Authority will set up a screen 40-feet wide and 22-feet high and kick off its new Movies in the Park series in downtown Grand Rapids.

The movies will take place at Ah-Nab-Awen Park. They are free to attend and open to the public.

“The Princess Bride” will be shown Friday, August 2nd. Movie-themed activities start at 7:00 p.m.  They include an interactive demonstration from the Grand Rapids Fencing Academy and an appearance by Grand Valley State University’s Renaissance Club.  There will be face painting and a children’s play area co-hosted by Friends of Grand Rapids Parks and the Grand Rapids Children’s Museum.

Food vendors include Dorothy and Tony’s Gourmet Kettle Corn, GoNuts Donuts, Sweet Yo’s, and Woking Taco.  Participants may bring their own beer and wine.

Movies that will be shown later in August are “Back to the Future” on August 16th, and “Anchor Man” on August 23rd.
