Grand Rapids announcing myGRcitypoints contest to benefit city parks


GRAND RAPIDS, MI – The city is holding an 11 a.m. press conference to announce that people now can earnmyGRcitypoints by volunteering at designated events. Officials also plan to unveil a way for people to donate their points to city parks.

Participants previously have been able to earn myGRcitypoints by recycling. Through a partnership with Local First, people can redeem the points for products and services at area businesses.

Grand Rapids and non-city residents alike will be able to earn myGRcitypoints under the volunteering partnership with Heart of West Michigan United Way. Plans also will be announced for a $50,000 “park makeover” at the city park receiving the most donated myGRcitypoints.
