Friends is a Gold Leaf Award Winner, 2010

On August 19th, Friends of Grand Rapids Parks was awarded the Gold Leaf Award for Landscape Beautification from the Arboriculture Society of Michigan.  We accepted the award at their annual conference along with Jay Steffen from Parks and Recreation and Dotti Clune from the Urban Forestry Committee, who have been exceptional partners on all our tree planting and awareness efforts this past year.

International Society of Arboriculture (ISA) Gold Leaf Awards for 
Landscape Beautification:
For a community, agency or individual that was instrumental in organizing a local Landscape Beautification Project.

Arboriculture Society of Michigan (ASM) is the Michigan Chapter of the International Society of Arboriculture (ISA).  ASM is the professional organization which represents arborists, urban foresters, professional tree workers/climbers, academia, and others who are interested in arboriculture and the health and care of Michigan’s trees.
The International Society of Arboriculture (ISA) organized in 1924 represents over 20,000 arborists, urban foresters, and professional tree workers/climbers worldwide.
